Prelude

Let Everything that Has Breath
Let everything that, everything that Everything that has breath praise the Lord
Let everything that, everything that Everything that has breath praise the Lord

Praise You in the morning Praise You in the evening
Praise You when I'm young and when I'm old Praise You when I'm laughing
Praise You when I'm grieving Praise You every season of the soul

If we could see how much You're worth Your power, Your might, Your endless love
Then surely we would never cease to praise

Praise You in the heavens Join with the angels Praising You forever and a day
Praise You on the earth now Join with creation Calling all the nations to Your praise

If we could see how much You're worth Your power, Your might, Your endless love
Then surely we would never cease to praise

I will worship, I will worship I will worship You with every breath (2x)

Holy Now
When I was a boy each week, On Sunday we would go to church,
Pay attention to the priest. And he would read the holy word,
And consecrate the holy bread And ev'ryone would kneel and bow.
Today the only dif'rence is Ev'rything is holy now.
Ev'rything, ev'rything, ev'rything is holy now.

When I was in Sunday school,
We would learn about the time Moses split the sea in two,
And Jesus made the water wine. And I remember feeling sad,
Miracles don't happen still, And now I can't keep track
Cause ev'rything's a miracle. Ev'rything, ev'rything, ev'rything's a miracle.

BRIDGE 1

Wine from water is not so small, But an even better magic trick
Is that anything is here at all. So the challenging thing becomes
Not to look for miracles, But finding where there isn't one.

When holy water was rare at best It barely wet my fingertips.
Now I have to hold my breath Like I'm swimmin' in a sea of it.
It used to be a world half there, Heaven's second rate hand me down.
Now I walk it with a reverent air, 'Cause ev'rything is holy now.
Ev'rything is holy now. (8x)

Read a questioning child's face And say it's not a testament.
That'd be very hard to say. See another new morning come
And say it's not a sacrament I tell you that it can't be done.

This mornin' outside I stood. I saw a little red wing bird
Shining like a burning bush, And singing like a scripture verse.
It made me want to bow my head. I remember when church let out.
How things have changed since then. Ev'rything is holy now.

It used to be a world half there, Heaven's second rate hand me downs,
Now I'm walking with a reverent air, 'Cause ev'rything is holy now.
Ev'rything is holy now. (8x)

Contemporary Reading

"The Summer Day" by Mary Oliver

"Who made the world?

Who made the swan, and the black bear?

Who made the grasshopper?

This grasshopper, I mean—

the one who has flung herself out of the grass,

the one who is eating sugar out of my hand,

who is moving her jaws back and forth instead of up and down—

who is gazing around with her enormous and complicated eyes.

Now she lifts her pale forearms and thoroughly washes her face.

Now she snaps her wings open, and floats away.

I don't know exactly what a prayer is.

I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down

into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass,

how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields,

which is what I have been doing all day.

Tell me, what else should I have done?

Doesn't everything die at last, and too soon?

Tell me, what is it you plan to do

with your one wild and precious life?"

COMMUNITY PRAYER ~ THE LORD'S PRAYER

Sung in Echo

Our Mother, Father, Our Mother, Father

Who art in heaven, Who art in heaven

Hallowed be thy name, Hallowed be thy name

Thy Kingdom come, Thy Kingdom come

Thy will be done, Thy will be done

On earth as it is in heaven, On earth as it is in heaven

Give us this day, Give us this day

Our daily bread, Our daily bread

And forgive us all our sins, And forgive us all our sins

And lead us not, And lead us not

In temptation, In temptation

But deliver us from evil, But deliver us from evil

For yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory

Forever, Forever

And ever, And ever

Our Mother, Father, Our Mother, Father

Who art in heaven, Who art in heaven

Hallowed be thy name, Hallowed be thy name

ANCIENT READING

Zechariah 3:7-10

"Thus says the Lord of hosts: If you will walk in my ways and keep my requirements, then you shall rule my house and have charge of my courts, and I will give you the right of access among those who are standing here. Now listen, Joshua, high priest, you and your colleagues who sit before you! For they are an omen of things to come: I am going to bring my servant the Branch. For on the stone that I have set before Joshua, on a single stone with seven facets, I will engrave its inscription, says the Lord of hosts, and I will remove the guilt of this land in a single day. On that day, says the Lord of hosts, you shall invite each other to come under your vine and fig tree."

Luke 13:6-9

Then he told this parable: "A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came looking for fruit on it and found none. So he said to the man working the vineyard, 'See here! For three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and still I find none. Cut it down! Why should it be wasting the soil?' He replied, 'Sir, let it alone for one more year, until I dig around it and put manure on it. If it bears fruit next year, well and good, but if not, you can cut it down.' "

Spirit of God
The blessing of the Father
Gift of grace and love
The promise of the Savior
For power from above
Oh, wondrous gift that's given
For confidence and mission
Holy Spirit, You make all things new

Spirit of God, breathe on me now
Source of life, come, revive my weary heart
Spirit of God, shine on me now
Light of life, come, ignite my longing heart

Come and lift the dark clouds
Of doubt and unbelief
Shine upon my soul now
For by Your rays I see
Clearer, closer, deeper
The love of my Redeemer
Holy Spirit, You make all things new

Spirit of God, breathe on me now
Source of life, come, revive my weary heart
Spirit of God, shine on me now
Light of life, come, ignite my longing heart

Where You breathe hope thrives
The dead return to life
And the dark must flee the breaking day
By Your light I see the glory of my King
Beholding Him I will be changed

Spirit of God, breathe on me now
Source of life, come, revive my weary heart
Spirit of God, shine on me now
Light of life, come, ignite my longing heart
