P:Acatamiento is a way of seeing that is rooted in awe, reverence, and deep respect for the dignity of every person. It is the practice of setting aside judgment so that we can truly encounter one another. In today's Gospel, Jesus does just that. He sits at the table with tax collectors and sinners, seeing not labels or failures, but beloved children of God. When others question his choices, Jesus reminds them that his mission is to draw near to those who have been pushed to the margins. As we cross this threshold into worship, may we open our hearts to the sacredness in ourselves and in one another. Let us come with wonder instead of judgment, curiosity instead of certainty, and gratitude for the God who always makes room at the table for everyone.
“You Are Mine” v.2 + refrain · #2218 TFWS
I am hope for all who are hopeless
I am eyes for all who long to see
In the shadows of the night
I will be your light
Come and rest in me
Do not be afraid, I am with you
I have called you each by name
Come and follow me, I will bring you home
I love you, and you are mine
L:Come, all who are searching. Come, all who are weary. Come, all who have known welcome and all who have wondered if there is a place for you.
All:We come because God calls us by name and invites us to the table.
L:Jesus did not wait for people to become perfect before offering friendship. He sat with those others rejected, seeing not labels, but beloved children of God.
All:We come to lay down judgment and receive the grace that makes us whole. With grateful hearts, we worship the God of boundless welcome. Amen
P:The Peace of Christ be with you.
All:And also with you.
P:You are invited to pass the peace among you, remembering to pass it to those joining us remotely.

Still, what I want in my life
Is to be willing
To be dazzled
To cast aside the weight of facts
And maybe even
To float a little
Above this difficult world.
I want to believe I am looking
Into the white fire of a great mystery.
I want to believe that the imperfections are nothing
That the light is everything—that is more than the sum
Of each flawed blossom rising and fading. And I do.
Our Mother, Father, Our Mother, Father
Who art in heaven, Who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name, Hallowed be thy name
Thy Kingdom come, Thy Kingdom come
Thy will be done, Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven, On earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day, Give us this day
Our daily bread, Our daily bread
And forgive us all our sins, And forgive us all our sins
And lead us not, And lead us not
Into temptation, Into temptation
But deliver us from evil, But deliver us from evil
For yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory
Forever, Forever
And ever, And ever
Our Mother, Father, Our Mother, Father
Who art in heaven, Who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name, Hallowed be thy name
Jesus went out again beside the sea; the whole crowd gathered around him, and he taught them. As he was walking along, he saw Levi, son of Alphaeus, sitting at the tax-collection station, and he said to him, “Follow me.” And he got up and followed him.
And as he sat at dinner in Levi’s house, many tax collectors and sinners were also sitting with Jesus and his disciples, for there were many who followed him. When the scribes of the Pharisees saw that he was eating with sinners and tax collectors, they said to his disciples, “Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?” When Jesus heard this, he said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician but those who are sick; I have not come to call the righteous but sinners.”
